Bust Measurement
Be sure and measure all the way around the back and the largest part of the bust. Do this underneath your clothes with the bra you are going to wear for the event. Do not take the measurement with a sports bra for they tend to give you an inaccurate measurement.
Waist
Be sure and measure all the way around the back to the front of the waist. Your waist is not usually where the waistband of your outfit sits. Measure one inch above the belly button and pay close attention to where the dress will fit. Do this underneath your clothes with the undergarments you are going to wear.
Hip
Be sure and measure all the way around the buttocks and the largest part of the hip. Do this underneath your clothes.
Length
Measure from the top of the shoulder where a seam of a shirt or dress would be all the way down over the bust, to the waist, and straight down to the hem of where you want the garment to hang. Be sure you are wearing the shoes you will be using. This can make a big difference on this measurement. Every different pair of shoes will give you a different measurement.
